Overview:
Join SPC for a Destination Paddle to Plum Island! We’ll meet at the boat ramp in the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge and launch into the beautiful waterways surrounding this coastal gem. Expect winding tidal creeks, wide-open salt marshes, and stunning views of the New England coastline. With an abundance of wildlife and miles of scenic water to explore, Plum Island offers a great opportunity to get off the beaten path, enjoy a change of scenery, and experience the coast from a whole new perspective. Keep your eyes peeled for birds and other wildlife as we make our way through this special coastal habitat.

Parking:The daily entrance fee for a vehicle at Parker River National Wildlife Refuge is $5 per car (covering all passengers), and an annual refuge pass is $20.
Tips for Cold Water Paddling:
Check the Weather Before Leaving Home: All SPC paddles are weather-dependent. Before leaving your house, we encourage you to check the homepage of our website or our Facebook page to make sure the event didn’t get canceled.
Dress for the Conditions:
Whether you prefer to wear a wetsuit or a dry suit, please make sure you have the appropriate gear for cold water paddling and that you dress accordingly.
Pack A Post-Paddle Kit:
Bring along extra warm clothes you can change into after your paddleboard session. It’s a good idea to keep a towel, warm sweater, pants, and a jacket in your car, so you’ve got something warm and dry when you get in from the water. Packing a thermos of something warm to eat or drink after your paddleboard session is also a good trick to help keep you warm and refueled after spending time on the water.
