As part of this paddle\, participants can expect to complete a 4 – 6 mile paddle while taking in the sights\, which include the House of the Seven Gables\, the Hocus Pocus House\, and Pickering Wharf. When we return to the launch area\, paddlers can hang out at the picnic area\, so plan to bring food and chairs for a post-paddle social if the weather cooperates. \nSkill Level:\nOur Destination Paddles are designed for intermediate to advanced paddlers. \nPaddle Notes:\n \nParking: There is a large\, public lot for parking at Forest River Park. The meter is 50 cents per hour. \nTips for Cold Water Paddling:Check the Weather Before Leaving Home: All SPC paddles are weather-dependent. Before leaving your house\, we encourage you to check the homepage of our website or our Facebook page to make sure the event didn’t get canceled. \nDress for the Conditions:Whether you prefer to wear a wetsuit or a dry suit\, please make sure you have the appropriate gear for cold water paddling and that you dress accordingly. \nPack A Post-Paddle Kit:Bring along extra warm clothes you can change into after your paddleboard session. It’s a good idea to keep a towel\, warm sweater\, pants\, and a jacket in your car\, so you’ve got something warm and dry when you get in from the water. Packing a thermos of something warm to eat or drink after your paddleboard session is also a good trick to help keep you warm and refueled after spending time on the water. Our paddle out to the “Nubs” can be challenging\, so participants should be comfortable navigating some swell and current. \nPaddlers should arrive at least 30 minutes before our designated paddle time to ensure they have enough time to find parking\, unload their gear\, and be in the right headspace to paddle. \nParking Situation\nThe paddle will depart from Short Sands Beach\, so parking in the Short Sands parking lot is the easiest option\, but depending on the time of year\, it can be challenging. \n  URL:https://www.seacoastpaddleboardclub.com/event/nubble-light-paddle-2024/ LOCATION:Short Sands Beach York\, ME\, Ocean Ave\, York\, ME\, 03909\, United States CATEGORIES:Destination Paddle ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://www.seacoastpaddleboardclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Nubble-Light.jpg ORGANIZER;CN="Seacoast Paddleboard Club":MAILTO:Chris@SeacoastPaddleBoardClub.com END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/New_York:20240908T113000 DTEND;TZID=America/New_York:20240908T143000 DTSTAMP:20260428T041930 CREATED:20240906T014831Z LAST-MODIFIED:20240908T142639Z UID:10000611-1725795000-1725805800@www.seacoastpaddleboardclub.com SUMMARY:York River Paddle DESCRIPTION:Join us for our first Destination paddle of 2024 on the York River.
