This excursion is open to paddlers of all skill levels\, but proper safety gear and paddle attire are required. We expect to paddle between 4 – 6 miles at a leisurely pace with an estimated on-water time of between 2 to 3 hours.\n\nMeetup & Parking:We will meet at 11:30 a.m. at the public parking lot on the North side of the Route 1 Bridge (just north of The York River Landing Restaurant).\n\nAbout the York River:The York River is a 13-mile-long (21 km) stream in southeast Maine. It is tidal for over half of its length. It rises at York Pond in Eliot and feeds the tidal section conjoined by brooks and creeks. The York River flows southeast to the Atlantic Ocean at York Harbor in the town of York. The Abenaki name for the York River was Agamenticus\, which means “Beyond-the-hill-little-cove.” URL:https://www.seacoastpaddleboardclub.com/event/york-river-paddle-2024/ CATEGORIES:Destination Paddle ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://www.seacoastpaddleboardclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Nubble-Light-1.jpg ORGANIZER;CN="Seacoast Paddleboard Club":MAILTO:Chris@SeacoastPaddleBoardClub.com END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/New_York:20240922T100000 DTEND;TZID=America/New_York:20240922T123000 DTSTAMP:20260406T063934 CREATED:20240827T014131Z LAST-MODIFIED:20240918T011417Z UID:10000608-1726999200-1727008200@www.seacoastpaddleboardclub.com SUMMARY:Nubble Light Paddle DESCRIPTION:The Cape Neddick Lighthouse\, also known as the Nubble Lighthouse\, is one of Maine’s most popular tourist attractions and one of our favorite paddles of the year. Our paddle out to the “Nubs” can be challenging\, so participants should be comfortable navigating some swell and current. \nPaddlers should arrive at least 30 minutes before our designated paddle time to ensure they have enough time to find parking\, unload their gear\, and be in the right headspace to paddle. \nParking Situation\nThe paddle will depart from Short Sands Beach\, so parking in the Short Sands parking lot is the easiest option\, but depending on the time of year\, it can be challenging. \n  URL:https://www.seacoastpaddleboardclub.com/event/nubble-light-paddle-2024/ LOCATION:Short Sands Beach York\, ME\, Ocean Ave\, York\, ME\, 03909\, United States CATEGORIES:Destination Paddle ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://www.seacoastpaddleboardclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Nubble-Light.jpg ORGANIZER;CN="Seacoast Paddleboard Club":MAILTO:Chris@SeacoastPaddleBoardClub.com END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
