This paddle is open to ALL paddle crafts\, including kayaks and canoes. \nOur day will start at 9:00 a.m. with on-site registration and a one-hour park cleanup of Peirce Island. \nThe main event will begin at 10:15 with a captain’s safety meeting and briefing. Then\, this freakishly fun paddle will depart from the Pierce Island boat ramp at 10:30 a.m. While participating in this leisurely paddle parade\, participants will have a chance to shock\, spook\, and delight our costume judges for a chance to win some amazing prizes. \nRegistration for this event is $15 for SPC members and  $25 for non-members. All proceeds go directly to supporting the Portsmouth Halloween Parade. \nCostume Prize Categories are:\n\nBest Sea Life Themed Costume1st Place & 2nd Place Prizes\nMost Original Costume1st Place & 2nd Place Prizes\nCreepiest/Scariest Costume1st Place & 2nd Place Prizes\nFunniest Costume1st Place & 2nd Prizes\n\n\nSAFETY NOTE: All paddle participants are required to wear proper safety gear\, including a PDF and a leash (for paddle boarders).\n\nEvent Schedule:\n9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. – Peirce Island Cleanup (materials will be provided by SPC & Blue Ocean Society)\n10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. – Mandatory Safety Meeting\, Costume Paddle & Judging\n11:30 p.m. – Award Ceremony (1st & 2nd Place will be awarded for the following categories: Spookiest\, Funniest\, Most Creative\, Nautical Theme\, and best group — up to six members).\n\nPeirce Island Cleanup:\nIn an effort to protect our playground\, SPC will host a one hour island cleanup from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
