Paddleboard Stretching for Optimal Performance

Why Stretch?

Basically, stretching your muscles before, during, and after you paddle can decrease muscle warm up time, reduce the risk of injury, improve your flexibility, and improve recovery times after hard training paddles.

What Kind of Stretches Should I Do?

Paddleboarding is a full-body exercise so you should be warming up your entire body before, keeping it warm and mobile during, and cooling down afterwards. Here’s what we want to pay attention to:

  • Neck
  • Shoulders
  • Wrists
  • Back
  • Legs (Quads, hams, calves, glutes) – specifically for standup paddleboarding
